Disciplinary Actions
This feature allows user to register and keep track of disciplinary
actions taken against certain employees.
A disciplinary action is "a process for dealing with job-related
behavior that does not meet expected and communicated performance
standards. The primary purpose for progressive discipline is to
assist the employee to understand that a performance problem or
opportunity for improvement exists."

The local HR department is responsible for entering any employee
disciplinary action, and all information stored in this module is
completely independent from the Payroll or Incidences module.
Before starting using this feature, all Disciplinary Actions
reasons must be previously entered in the
Disciplinary Reasons module.
- Go to Human Resources. Click on Disciplinary Actions.
- Enter Employee WIN.
- Click on Submit.
- User may otherwise click on the View link (upper left) to see a
list of all employees and then click on Select (far right) in order
to get to the desired employee record.
- The system will take user to the Disciplinary Actions -Add
window where two different sections must be completed:
Disciplinary Reason
- Reason Date: Use display calendar to set date of report.
- Additional Comments: User may enter particular comments on the
incident. Field allows up to 255 chatacters.
- Disciplinary Reason: Use drop down menu to select the reasons
or violations for which the employee is being sanctioned. Reasons
will include a P for performance-related situations, or an N for
Non-Performance situations. It is also important to remember that
the drop down menu will only display those reasons that have been
previously stored in the system.
- Disciplinary Action: Enter the actions which will be taken in
effect.
Disciplinary Action
- Sanction Date: Use display calendar to set date when employee
was given his sanction or began serving his suspension. User may
enter future dates. However, if employee is to be terminated before
Sanction Date, user must delete all disciplinary action records
before employee is terminated.
Validations:
- System does not allow Sanction Date to be prior to employee
Last Hired Date.
- Sanction Date for terminated employees must be greater than
Termination Date.
- Action: Use drop down menu to select Action.
- Reported By: Enter employee WIN of the individual who first
reported the incident or violation. It may be the employee
supervisor, manager or local HR representative. Click on Verify
Employee Id to visualize employee name in field below. This helps
to make sure the employee WIN was entered correctly.
Disciplinary History.
As soon as a disciplinary reason and action is submitted, the
record is shown in the history window. This section includes a
column which will show Action status. When status is "expired", it
will be shown in red.
Actions will expire depending on the value stored under Company
Local settings. (see field "Set number of months before warning
expiration").
